I'm delighted you've got Christina's book (AR and Captain Flint's Trunk: nobody seems to have mentioned its name) but equally, does nobody here realise that without that book, there would be no Tarboard?
It was first published in 1984, and was the first sign to AR enthusiasts that there were others hidden in the undergrowth. Eventually, in 1990, The Arthur Ransome Society was founded, and that is the TAR that we here are named after.
So to sum up: if you haven't read Christina's book, you haven't read all the original research on the subjects we spend our time discussing. (Though I must admit she doesn't really cover plumbing much.)
And since the death of Rupert Hart-Davis, she has been AR's Literary Executor.
