Dorothea's creativity never seems to impact on her life- she sees herself as a writer, creating her stories, not living in them as Titty does.

Which is why I fell in love... From a very early age, I preferred my women creative, yes, but clear-eyed, definitely. It's still true now I'm 68, but more so. And I'm still in love.

Although I reckon in 'The Big Six', Dot lived her story all right. But her main fantasy was of being an author. I think she is the only one of AR's creations to be broadly satirical. I'm sure this is why he was so fond of her character- and it shows.
