I appreciate that the plane fare is expensive, but I'm sure those of us who live in or at least near the Lakes could help reduce your expenditure this side e.g. collect from the airport, provide hospitality when not camping and transport around the Lakes, get best value for things generally, lend equipment to avoid excess baggage rates, and offer boats to provide a great experience. I hope $800 for a two week holiday might make it more possible?
