The obvious answer to the order of release is that it should be the same as the order
of publication (though) you could argue that Peter Duck should come before Swallowdale.
I'm with you 100%. There is a gradual maturing of the characters and their relationships
throughout the books, which is an essential part of their magic. This is very subtly done
as Ransome (quite rightly in my view) does not take them into the world of 'young adults'.
