It must be disappointing to consider not being able to view the films, if they are ever made, Ed.
It is possible to buy multi region DVD players (athough by the time these films come out we may all be moving to Blu-ray format) in Europe - I assume it is the same in the US.
You can also start lobbying Hollywood who, I understand, insisted that a strictly controlled product release to maximise profits would require diffferent regions.
