I read the Five books as a child before S&A,s I felt they were fun but not likely to happen to me, S&A,s I felt I could have been a part of.With S&A,s I remembered most of the details with affection until I read them again as an older (much older)adult and loved them again, Blyton books I cannot remember any details of the stories, apart from the white cockatoo and I think that was in one of her other stories I know she had several different heroes.
Mind you I cannot remember any of the Biggles plots either except one when he was in Finland.
I think you are right the Ransome books mostly feel real.
