I think Saville openly admitted that Ransome was a major influence on him. He was a tremendously prolific writer, but all I ever read of his was a couple of books in his Lone Pine series. My first ever post on Tarboard contained a huge howler because I mistakenly transferred a memory of something said about the twins in one of those books to Ransome's Dick and Dorothea.
