XEROX - "Go Xerox this letter." Where "Xerox" simply means, "make a photo-copy" regardless of the brand name on the copier machine.

The twist on the above name is that sometimes, it is pronounced "Ex-rocks" and other times as "Zee-rocks."

It is no longer done, but back in the early days of photography, the word "Kodak" was the same as "camera" regardless of the make.

At least, that is the way it was in the USA.
