I don't think that my post necessarily means that yours was wrong!
Sugar refining, like the location of the original Beckfoot, involves
a certain amount of deliberate ambiguity.

The classic process, making sugar from sugar cane, originally
involved only physics (making a solution, evaporating the water,
crystallising the sugar and repeating). In this process, molasses
is what is left over after most of the sugar has been removed from
the raw sugar cane juice. It tastes foul, but is rich in vitamins
and minerals.

The 'molasses' from the intensive refining process involving
sugar beet is not so good for you!
