Oh Jock, what a mouth-watering offer! If I were closer to you I'd be in it like a flash, but getting it from your place to Melbourne could be a tad dicey. The extra maintenance of a wooden boat over a plastic one or a 'tinnie' gives the owner a way of playing with his or her boat when the weather is too awful to go sailing. It comes under the heading of 'messing about with boats', which is quite addictive. Then, of course, there is the joy of sailing in a boat that is just so good-looking that you feel that you could burst with pride.
David.
