The River in Wind in the Willows is the Oxfordshire part of the Thames
and although quite a few country houses could claim to have contributed
to Toad Hall (Beckfoot searchers please note!) the house with one of the
best claims is Mapledurham House. Mapledurham House, Lock and Mill
has a wonderful website, courtesy of the River Thames Society. The
House also has a website of its own.
