Stimulated by children's books thread(below) [I bought them all & I'm being v careful to read them first before grandchildren steal them], I picked up all Llewellyn's books off abebooks.com for about $1 each

it's turgid, in the flashback style of AS Byatt Possession-- (crossed with Hitchcock Notorious)
he uses several AR phrases such as "lay an information" (CC or BS) & a few others.
I expect, as England's late 20th century premier (contemporary) sailing-book writer, he was familiar with the whole AR canon.
Storm Force from Navarone is a good read, if you like that kind of WWII thing. ( and particularly if you are in the sub. business like me)
