When my beautiful partner Valerie and I are by ourselves, our main meal is in the evening. However, because we live some 60 miles out of Melbourne, we usually entertain at lunchtime, preferably with an alfresco barbecue which lasts until well into the afternoon. This allows our guests plenty of time to get home at a reasonable hour. It also leaves us with no appetite for another meal that day, and I invariably feel better for it. There has been rather an abundance of entertaining this summer, and our figures are showing the results of it. "Lunch" is now a very unsatisfying Meal Substitute drink, while we try to lighten the load on our shoes.
David.
