Porridge is basically cracked oats cooked in either water or milk. Quaker Oats is a rolled version of the cracked out to make the porridge cook more quickly.
There are probably as many ways of cooking porridge and adding various ingredients as there are Tarboarders.
But to my mind, the version where you add cream, honey and (once it has cooled below 60 degrees C) whisky takes a lot of beating.
