Peter - I think you're being too modest. Seriously, if you had not had that idea and made that comment, this proposal would never have arisen. And it had me rocking about spluttering on my chair, which was unfortunate since I was at work at the time, though I should warn you that I'm more of a Nero than a Louis Quatorze :-) However, I suggest that we put that topic aside for another time (see my reply to Peter Willis).

As for calling general truces for the whole of TarBoard and its members, that may be a tad ambitious. Bulletin boards tend to have a life of their own. What I think would be useful would be if every now and then we were to clear a space for a particular individual to follow his/ her AR-related interests and have the rest of us participate in that agenda. We are not all equal in our typing skills, the performance of our computers or in our levels of confidence, and some people to tend to get brushed aside in the general hurly burly, despite the threaded structure of TarBoard. This includes some people who have actually known the author to whom this forum is dedicated - click here for an example. 'Victims' could be nominated by their friends to be elevated to the aristocracy of the kingdom of Redonda, as was AR, so as to give the levée a little added panache. Or we could tone down the idea to make it a little more restrained - perhaps you could come up with a suggestion..?
