I think this is the correct film and also starred Roger Livesey as the returning Laird.
Of more interest is that, ISTR, it featured the Corryvreckan Tidal Race which forms at, the wrong state of the tide, one of the world's largest whirlpools.
I expect the IMDb film database will have full details on the film.

To put this on an AR link, it is something the S,A & D's might have seen in their western isles cruise in GN. Apparently when the tides clash it forms a real maelstrom that can be heard for miles.
