Hunter's yard is still there, intact, still with engineless boats, and now run by a charitable trust, which gives good discounts on hire for youth groups - individuals can hire boats at more commercial, but still reasonable rates. As well as the cabin yachts, they have a fleet of 18 fto or so half-deckers, excellent for day-sailing and teaching the ropes. I learnt most of what I know about sailing on one or other of them (or their now-defunct fleet-mates)... er, quite a number of years ago. They do have a website, to which I'd give you a hyperlink if I'd taught myself how to do them. It's www.huntersyard.co.uk There's also Carol Hammond's Stalham site, with a lot of Ransome stuff and real hullaballoo music - www.whiteswan.co.uk
As for Ken's identity, I think I have an inkling. Have I by any chance ever borrowed his walking boots?
