Robert:
While I don't know the answer to your question, it reminds me of the
street names in Columbia, a city here in Maryland. Columbia was built
from scratch in late 60s or early 70s by the Rouse Corporation as a
kind of social experiment. They built houses of widely varying cost in
the same neighborhood, so that low and moderate income families would
be side-by-side with higher income families. Now all the houses there
cost a fortune. Since they had to name dozens of streets all at once,
they got very cutesy and faddish names. There is a whole neighborhood
with street names taken from J.R.R.Tolkien - kind of nauseating for any
real fan of his. I don't think they have any Ransome names.
