"actually Dick's Pocket Book is also created by me and on "my" server"

Oh! Please excuse my ignorance.

"my guessing was more along the lines of wondering about using it for linked URLs to Google maps locations rather than using uploaded Google Earth .kmz files on Yahoo Tarboard "Upload area" - then usable by people without Google Earth, and people without Yahoo registration. "

That makes sense, and is certainly easier for many people to use, rather than my idea of having to copy "My Places" info into people's own installed copies of Google Earth. I also noticed that since Google Earth is installed on my computer and came up with your link, that I was able to move around in your test link of Peel Island, and went over to Windermere.

Thank you Ian, for your work on this as well as providing this wonderful forum for us. I have learned a lot with the Beckfoot thread, due to people sharing idea and theories and their own explorations. Your provision of TarBoard makes it possible to keep Arthur Ransome and his stories, characters, locations, and his ideas, a continuing part of our lives.
