I don't disagree, in a broad sense, though I think it would be stretching things a little to describe it is a 'leftist household'. I've challenged others in the past for describing it as a Tory one - the liberal schism appeared to play itself out in the Ransome home, and AR's dad followed the Chamberlain route of 'liberal unionists' who ended up with the tories.
