"Claire's Mom's camera might well have been a Series III Vanity. This came in a range of colours, and with a matching satin-lined clamshell case. The Vanity Ensemble (1928-1929) even included a lipstick, compact, mirror, and change pocket. It was made in gray, green, red and turquoise and had an art deco pattern".

Thank you for the picture, Mike. Yes, that is it, except the one I knew was green. I don't remember the case, but my older sister does. We are pretty sure that hers was not the Ensemble version. I do remember squeezing something together under the lens and then pulling the bellows out until something clicked into place, and then doing the reverse to fold it back together. I used that camera up into the early 60's and then the bellows cracked and made a vertical stripe on the photos.
