Today March 29th is the 80th birthday of Lucy Batty, owner of Bank Ground Farm (Holly Howe). Sadly she will spend it in hospital after a fall and a bad break in her right leg (fib. and tib.).
A bracken poultice has not been enough for a swift recovery - she has been in Furness General Hospital for eight weeks with a possible four more to go. Please join me in wishing her a very happy birthday nonetheless!
I visited her yesterday and she seemed quite perky despite her predicament.
