On the advice of Pauline Marshall , I climbed up Tiberthwaite ghyll last summer finding a pair of valleys at its head, the lower one in the ghyll proper is narrow steep sided and inviable, with a great rock water fall at its head, at the bottom of which is an old rock mine working. You couldnt camp in this valley (it is after all little more than a river bed), but the valley at the top of the water fall is a larger grassier vally with a gentle beck running down its center and yet anoth old mine working (now collapesd and dangerous) in one of its walls, this could be yet another of these pairs of vallys with teh lower one steep sided and inviable and teh upper suitable for a camp.
