Facsimile dustjackets, if they're good ones (I don't mean good copies of old ones) can be a pleasant addition to a collection of books without dust jackets. I wouldn't have thought it was generally trickery or dishonest (any facsimile I have seen is very clearly not 70 years old) and is just for display purposes. I've bought a couple from Kirkland Books, for example, in the past (very clearly listed and labelled), and I am rather tempted to try and get some for some of my firsts. Buying firsts without DJs, then other early editions with them and swopping covers is, of course, dishonest and trickery.

I suppose if you're buying something online it would be hard to tell if something were a facsimile. But you'd soon know when it got home!
