Duncan -
you were there the same weekend as Matthew came up. I'd noticed that the road race (the Coniston 14 - www.coniston14.co.uk ) was on, and so we were parked at Rigg Wood before most of them went past - we saw them as we canoe'd out to WCI.

We went up to High Topps on the Sunday after looking at Amazon in the Ruskin Museum just as it turned Winter Holidayish. We looked into Swallowdale 3 before retreating, to cross Windermere on the ferry and observe Ramp Holme from it.

I agree with you that Huyton Hill is far too big to be Beckfoot, and fake Tudor in style rather than traditional Lake District.

Let us know when you are next over if you'd like some company on your explorations!

Rob
