hmmm, think it's a case of 'a rose by any other name'.
Whilst in the 1960's, in northern America, Betty Friedan had it as 'the problem that has no name' [The Feminine Mystique ] most dictionaries now have feminism as something like -

1 : the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes
2 : organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests

so it's not a new thing - just a name for a developing thing.

and Ransome certainly had a feminist pre-editor in Evgenia.

As for when women gained the vote
Australia 1902 (with the shameful exception of Aborigine women 1967)
Canada 1918
USA 1920
UK 1928 (women over 21)

Bernard Shaw's - The Intelligent Woman's Guide to Socialism and Capitalism 1928
has a fine, most definitely what one would now call feminist, chapter on women in the labor market.
