Well, I would reconstruct that image if I were you, John. To speculate that Nancy was promiscuous is totally hypothetical and based on nothing. One might just as well suggest that she became a drug-smuggler. The idea that 'tomboyish' means sexually promiscuous is rubbish. A tomboy is a boisterous and adventurous young girl - one who behaves more like a boy (wants to climb trees, play football etc). Such a child is no more and no less likely to become sexually promiscuous after puberty than a very 'feminine' type of girl. (Also, I think that probably now, in a time of equal opportunities and avoidance of stereotyping, the term 'tomboy' might be regarded as a bit reactionary and outdated. I hope we can consign this thread to deserved oblivion.)
