In my first post about sanctuaries several months ago, I mentioned that the concept is well-developed in children. AR was familiar with that, of course, which was why he used a number of them in his stories. I once made a cave of sorts with low walls made from piled up grass cuttings leafed over with bracken fronds. It didn't last long, while it did, however, it was my sanctuary. Wonder why most children have this desire to make some sort of secret place.
