I'm not surprised at all by the preponderance of older men, given my recent experiences discussing feminism & AR. ;-)

SA is very much a first book - it's a little stilted and the characters haven't quite found their voices. But I'm also surprised by CC not being more popular and WDMTGTS's extreme popularity. They share the journey/danger themes but Coot Club has richer characterisations, and is much more intricately structured (without that clanger of Daddy just turning up in Holland).

I'm not voting for any one book - I love 'em all and could never choose! But will someone please vote for Missee Lee if only for the S & A's escape on the Shining Moon?
