Adam - one interesting thing re: your article there on The Lake. I haven't edited it on the wiki because I'm not quite sure what to write. You mention there not being other lakes nearby, and for the most part there don't seem to be. However, in Swallowdale there is a reference to another lake to the west. They are walking overland to the Amazon River, and some swans fly overhead. At a high point they see another lake away to the west and, even through the telescope, can't see any boats on it. I think the chapter's called something like 'Overland to the Amazon'.
Just an interesting aside!
