I really did enjoy great northern. Sparked my interest in the gaels. I also used to (and hope to in the future) holiday on a lake in Maine that has Great Norherns on it ( Loons). They make a fantastic erie sound at night.
I suppose that there is no finally bothers me. I would love to know what became of the swallows and amazons. The older children do seem on the verge of adulthood in great northern and summer holidays would have come to a close soon. I have not read swallows and Amazons forever, I thought it was a composition of coot club and the big six.
