One of the other 'bad habits' that used to get TarBoarders very excited is bad
spelling. Now before I go much further I must declare an interest. I can't spell.
I blame it on dearth of English nursery books at my home during my toddler
years - I only discovered the Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit books when I was 25!
Happily TarBoard is a much more relaxed place these days and spelling slips
rarely attract much notice. Out in the big wide world a university professor is
arguing the case for some of the most common English mistaken spellings to be
normalised. I think his idea is great, but I suspect that the idea will be anathema
to most of my fellow TarBoarders.
