My version of Microsoft Word offers 18 varieties of English for its spellcheck including English (U.K.).

Google has 3,300,000 hits for the words "British English" including a Wikipedia article (which of course may be a complete fabrication).

I think that the concept of British English is fairly well established even in computer cirles.
