I think there may well be a real life house with the Beckfoot attributes. It is not called Beckfoot and it may not be close to a lake.
AR did say that all the places existed although he had moved them around (and he obviously changed the names). AR was very skilled in cutting and pasting locations to fit his story outlines.
Of course, logically, one might say the Beckfoot is also a cut and paste house in itself, but I cannot see a real reason for so doing. Of course the rose trellis may be an invention for the sake of the PM storyline.
I suspect that AR, following his experiences in Russia including taking Evgenia out of that country and also his avoidance of Ivy, was good at subterfuge. This means we may have to try harder to find the real locations.
Perhaps the quest is more fun than the quarry? Anyway I am happy to continue my hunting from afar.
