In a footnote to AR's letter to Mrs Collingwood
dated August 12,1914 in "Signalling to Mars", Hugh
Brogan writes: ... AR looked upon Lanehead as his
second home, and it later became the model for
Beckfoot, where Nancy and Peggy Blackett lived in
Swallows and Amazons.
Did Brogan perhaps come across something in AR's
papers than enabled him to make such an assertion?
