Hmm....I find I have to agree with Ed--we should study Lanehead for several reasons:
The naming concept--intriguing. The well-known fact that AR spent plenty of time there, apparently some of his happiest times. The fact that it is on The Lake, or at least one of the inspirations for it.
The setting is not that of Beckfoot, but as others have pointed out, AR told us that he mixed bits and pieces--perhaps the setting was taken from that one on Windermere, where the two girls lived with their father--I'm horrible with names--was it the Crossleys? From a wonderful article on If Not Duffers, I believe. Okay, someone help me out.
