Thanks for the list (it's you who maintains the site with all the covers, isn't it? I loved it) and thanks to anyone else for their comments!
I actually do not need any information on the translations right now. I could get all five of the German ones by an interlibrary loan with a little patience. I will do this sooner or later.

What I'd be interested in and I do not know if any of you knows that, are the copyrights of those translations. Are they still with the first publishers? How and when do they expire? I'd actually like to try to convince some publisher to reprint the existing ones and maybe translate some of the others. Very probably a futile project, but I do think it's a shame that they are all out of print (whereas for the schematic Blyton series like St Clare or Famous Five there are ghostwriters expanding the German versions of the series after the demise of Mrs. Blyton...). Anyway I'd like to know if they didn't sell well or whatever is the reason for their disappearance.

The S&A series is rightfully considered a classic. Classics should be made available in translation, especially ones for children.

Johannes
