Problem solved - if they started thinking about nesting in mid-June and got round to doing something about it by mid-July we have a "fit".
Now, on the sailing side of things, as andyb mentions, the Blacketts have done no sea sailing that we are aware of.
I postulate that, green with envy of the Swallows' adventure with the Goblin, Nancy has badgered her Uncle Jim into taking her and Peggy sailing in a big boat, which is why Uncle Jim has borrowed the Sea Bear from Mac. Uncle Jim however has invited the Swallows and the D's along as "ballast to the party" since Sea Bear is big enough for everyone - as indeed a Colin Archer redningskoite would be.
The D's having been taught all about sisterhooks by Nancy are going to be in awe of the Amazons sailing abilities no matter what!
