I heard a story that when on visits to a US port, the crew would sell unsuspecting Americans a small souvenir medallion with the Bluenose on one side and the Queen's head on the other for the bargain price of only $1 each.
For those not familiar with Canadian coinage, the Bluenose II is on the reverse of the Canadian 10 cent coin.
