I always imagined that Mrs Dixon might have looked after Mrs Callum when she (Mrs Dixon) was a young woman- certainly before she got married to a farmer, so at a time when she lived elsewhere. Although people didn't move around as much then as they do now, it's perfectly believable that the future Mrs Dixon might have lived and looked after the future Mrs Callum in, for example, Leeds.

So there might have been no Lake District connection, or ancestral home, for the Ds to see.
