Well I was in the queue at Waterstones in Piccadilly and I would say it was 75% female. But proportionally there were more dressed up guys. Mind you, I was about 50th in the queue so I don't know what it was like further back- maybe only girls are allowed to camp out overnight to buy books?
Still I do take the point that HP has brought boys into reading although Alex Rider (?) is pretty big too.
