One attempted put-down I had on this site a few years ago was from a gentleman who no longer posts here. Out of the blue, he sent me an email accusing me (yes, that's the right word) of being a conservative. I couldn't see for the life of me how my infrequent posts could convey that impression. In any case, what on earth is wrong with being conservative? I wrote back, indicating the other members might be interested in hearing his views. He nearly fell out of his tree apologizing - more of a grovel, really - and assured me he would never do it again. Very strange. By the way, I am a conservative.
