There is no better guide to what is best practice on a discussion forum than than the discretion that is practised by the mother of Parliaments. If Dennis Healey had said that Geoffrey Howe was like a dead sheep he would have been made to withdraw or escorted out of the chamber. As it was Healy had referred to Howe's attack on his policies as 'like being savaged by a dead sheep' which is a different kettle of fish altogether.
Well maybe for some, BP is boring...
For some BP may mean little more than how our heroes disposed of their bodily wastes, but for me it is a metaphor for speculating about how things in AR's fictional world fitted together. What was the internal layout of Beckfoot, or the relationship of Beckfoot to the geography of The Lake, or the social status of the Blackett household? In this sense of 'BP' I would maintain that nearly all TarBoarders are 'Beckfoot Plumbers'.
