Beckfoot plumbing. For some it is "boring". For another it is a "metaphor". As I see it, this wretched topic has developed its own destructive mythology. On March 4 this year, a much-respected TarBoarder said that he liked regularly to post up mentions of the BP topic so that he could (quote) "sit back and watch the explosions". I didn't think that was in the TarBoard spirit and said so at the time. The result was that a valued friendship was broken and I have a legacy of bitterness. Is it possible we could all agree to drop the BP topic indefinitely, as a courtesy to others more than anything else, and move on to the other 3 million (or rather 2,999,999) AR topics which are available to us? Please?
