Well, I for one will miss Tarboard enormously and I'd like to add my own thanks to Ian. I may not have posted much but I've loved dropping in every couple of weeks or so to see what has been discussed. When I did post I always escaped relatively unscathed.

I'm sad to hear that the 'replacement' would be open to TARS members only, although I understand entirely the reasons for. We've not joined TARS as we're in America and various questions as to whether we were staying or going, plus the opportunity cost of $50 seeming to to be much greater than the 25 pound equivilent, has meant we've never taken the plunge. Facebook still feels like something to be resisted in this privacy-free world; and to be honest I like the honest simplicity of TarBoard - it's always smacked of steam engines, sailing boats and proper beer... Very AR.

TarBoard will certainly be missed.

Luke
