I thought that this part of Luke Dolman's post was so important that it deserved a thread of its own.
pork pies, cumberland sausage, cornish pasties, sausage rolls, etc. ...it's been something of a revelation
to find that you can actually produce quite realistic results yourself when your cravings drive you to
desperate lengths.
One my frustrations is that the local T*sc*s here carry none of these essential foods. We've done pork pies
and its East European cousin pigs' trotters in aspic, but not cumberland sausage, cornish pasties, sausage rolls...
Also I'm not convinced that modern ginger beer or lemonade tastes anything like the refreshments
consumed by our heros.
Any good recipes, anyone?
