Hi Owen - LOL, I loved that story. Have dorms really become outmoded?? Rather a shame... Nothing like getting into bed and finding someone has filled it full of shaving foam to engender a wonderful sense of camaraderie.
Yes the explosive properties of ginger beer did become evident with the first bottle we opened but thankfully I'd taken the precaution of going outside to open it and then using my own body and clothes to shield the family and soak up the spray. What little was left went in the waiting mugs. It's amazing just how kind kids will be when they're swallowing something that even the dog runs away from. "It's really good Daddy, you'll have to make more of this!" they said, before they hurried inside and I heard the sound of something gurgling away down the kitchen sink. The other bottle was quickly dispatched to the safety of the garage, under strict orders, and is - I think - maturing there still.
