It's more than 40 years since I read Brave New World, but I can remember that the castes were known by Greek letters, alpha to epsilon. One group was called "Epsilon Semi-Morons".
People were designed from conception to fit their future roles in life. As far as I can recall the alphas weren't designed to be aggressive and go-getting in the sense of a Type A personality, but they were the most able and intelligent. Each caste was designed to be content with its lot, not jealous of those in either higher or lower castes.
