Welcome to the new Tarboard, we are glad you found us. As you can see it
strongly resembles the old Tarboard, so you should not have any problems
finding your way around. If you had a user name and password on the old
Tarboard, they should still work for posting here.

As you can see we have even brought along the old conversations so you
should be able to continue threads that were started on the old Tarboard
without any interruption.

We have a new FAQ page (About Tarboard) which explains a little about the
new Tarboard and its organizers and administrators. It also tells you a bit
about how we intend to operate. Tarboard is no longer a one man band, but we
hope to keep everything running along as it did in the past. In the future
there will undoubtedly have to be some changes both in the technology and in
how the Tarboard administration is organized and we may be calling for
additional volunteers to help out. At the moment our plans for the future
continuity of Tarboard are still a bit haphazard as we had to put this site
in place in a bit of a hurry and we wanted to establish the new Tarboard
without any interruption of service.

I must ask you to raise glasses of your best grog to Ian Edmondson-Noble,
the Onlie Begetter of Tarboard who worked very hard with us to ensure that
the new Tarboard lives on in the form and spirit of his creation. Thanks for
all your work Ian, over the last two weeks and over the last twelve years.

I would also like to pay tribute to the others who have worked so hard on
this transfer. Andrew Goltz, Owen Roberts, Woll Newall, Dave Thewlis and
Luke Dolman who have been involved with the whole exercise, from locating a
server we could use, finding and setting up the initial working party and
driving us forward to do the transferring and modifying of the software from
Ian, testing the new installation to ensure it works properly and all those
other myriad things that needed to be done. Forgive us if anything slipped
through the cracks. Let us know and we will fix it as soon as we can.

But enough speechifying from me..............Enjoy the new Tarboard as you
did the old one and lets discuss "All Things Ransome".
