A number of interesting metaphors for TarBoard have been suggested over the years. "The TarBoard Arms", a pub full of beer swigging bearded sailormen in their oilskins and "St TarBoard's" - an English boys' boarding school with its colourful common room, immediately come to mind. However I'm rather attracted to David's comparison of TarBoard to a Baltic Trader. Long may she enjoy fair winds, always have sufficient depth of water below the keel, and ship a happy, well-balanced and 'mixed', crew.
